Couriers

I have been selling off quite a bit of tackle I do not use and in the process have had some couriers let me down, two different couriers, one accepted an order then never collected the goods, when asked why they said the address was wrong ! why accept the order ?!!
The other has lost a rod, trying to get compensation via the insurance cover is a nightmare, not having a lot of luck with that and looks like I shall be out of pocket.

Anyone else had similar problems of late ?

Inter parcel.com never let me down yet and pretty cheap as well

Booked a package through interparcel for city link to collect on the friday, they did not turn up, was flippin fuming, well a bit worse than flippin after my mrs waited in all day for them.... so contacted interparcel and was refunded and the order cancelled.. rebooked through interparcel for the monday with TNT who i should say have been excellent and never let me down, TNT turned up at lunch time and duly collected the package..
At 19.55, yes 5 to 8 on monday evening i get a knock on the door and it's city link calling to collect a parcel, i said to the driver, sorry you're too late mate, it should have been collected fri, the order was cancelled and the rod is probably on it's way down the M5 by now so he went off in a huff.. never used city link since,TNT have been great though, always have collected when they should have and i've used them quite a lot, apart from one rod arriving damaged to a member on here who i duly refunded and claimed back from TNT,(it does help having a work colleagues wife who works for them though) was partly my fault though for sending it in just a plastic rod tube, i always use thick cardboard tubes now from a local carpet company who just throw them in the bin outside..
So in my view, city link.. rubbish.. top two i have dealt with is TNT for delivering and UK MAIL for receiving..

Yep i have used Interparcel with no problems....

It was via Interparcel !!
City Link were the culprits, maybe I ought to try TNT but really reluctant to send rods now, trouble is it is obvious what is inside, the guy even asked the wife it was a fishing rod inside,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We get a lot of deliveries at work and city link are awful, things damaged missing etc. I've sent at least 10 rods via TNT and never had a problem.

Same as Ben inter parcel via TNT always been spot on never a problem

Not sent rods with them but used to use DPD when I had my own business. Collected when they said they would, every move en route trackable and an email a few minutes after the recipient signs for the delivery.

Always booked the collection online as well.

Once you use them once they often email out discount vouchers for future use.

Tried TNT via Interparcel and lo and behold they have not collected a parcel today, definitely giving up now, thankfully last of my rods being sold so no more dealings with them.

Nick.

I made the mistake of sending 7 rods out by city link.

Apparently one has got lost!

One sent next day hasn't arrived after 3 days says in Transit still.

So far 3 have been delivered. 2 others still in Transit.

Never again.

Graham

Always use Interparcel ..... go for UPS .... never been let down and I send out around ten per month.

Used TNT, booked through Parcel2Go, for the first time this week, made the booking at 10.30 on Monday, they guarantee same day pickup if booked before 12.00. Guy picked the rod up at 15.45 and the tracker says it was delivered in Norwich the following morning at 9.55, excellent service!

i use my hermes for sending feeders out, they collect from the door and never fail to come. trackable delivery normally about 3 days and never had a problem touch wood.

Interparcels for most things

motorbikes etc shipleys :)

Weird one today, sold a couple of rods on fleabay yesterday and sorting out couriers today using Interparcel. First order went through with no problem, rod collected within 2 hours in fact.
Then tried to book the second one and got an automated message saying my card had been declined? Thought it was a 'fat finger' problem but same response next time I tried. Now had an e-mail from Interparcel saying that they will not accept any bookings to or from that particular postcode due to an ongoing dispute.
Guess I'll have to try another company, or is there a problem with some areas of Bristol?
