Classified thread.

I'm looking Derek.

I can honestly say, i've bought several items from Clive, and never had a problem. The items, have always been described very accurately, including photos, and very well priced. Keep it going Clive, we all love a bargain. :) Sometimes, i've dived straight in, ( shimano 3500b ), but i know, if i hang on a day or two, Clive will often reduce the price further, but if i do, i risk missing out to someone else. :D So, if its something your really after, for the sake of a couple of quid, get it while you can. :):):)

Still after a spare spool(s) if you come across any Clive. ;):)

Exactly Derek. It's unreasonable for a buyer to expect a seller not to accept other offers whilst they deliberate. Especially when said item is on offer for a bargain price.

Clive, i have purchased a few items from you and can truthfully say everything arrived as described and have no problem recommending your items for sale to anyone who wishes to know the authenticity of yourself and your sale items mate, those oc reels are terrific and were a real bargain:)

Never had a problem with anything bought off Shippo. Always tops.

He has always contributed as well.........when he used to catch anything.

Graham

I have no problem buying on here or selling on here. If I dont sell on here I put it on Ebay I increase my prices because of the fees.:D:D:D

I've never had a problem buying or selling on here, only time i would be a bit wary if someone comes on here and their first post is an item for sale, i've bought and sold mostly to long standing members anyway so you "sort"of know them as it is...

Bought only one thing from bfw and it was something i had been after for over 10 years,a big cast barbel in a case from Ray walton (better than the barbel society one).If i was not on BFW i would still be looking for one of the only 10 made.Sold a rod to someone who posted looking for one,the rod had been sitting around not used. Let down on Ebay last week, i won a rare pin for a good price, but was then mailed by the vendor who said the reel had been sold - after i won the auction.Lets be honest you will get a better service here than anywhere else.

Steve the last year one sold on eBay for £220 and it was used. It's also set high to encourage bids.

OK, a couple of points in answer to the response to my original post, some of which I was was in no doubt would come my way, lol.. When I said 'Some (though not all)' when complaining about some traders, the 'not all' was specifically referring to Shippo. I am well aware that Clive just does his thing, he trades as a hobby, not specifically to try to get rich. I have exchanged banter a time or two with Shippo, and consider him an OK guy. I am actually quite surprised and saddened that Clive assumed I might be referring to him.

Secondly, there were several posts similar to Joe's, and I quote...."Exactly Derek. It's unreasonable for a buyer to expect a seller not to accept other offers whilst they deliberate. Especially when said item is on offer for a bargain price."

The fact is, in the sale in question (and I thought I made this plain in my post)....I didn't 'Deliberate' at all, and certainly would not have complained about what happened if I had done...I am not THAT daft.

I actually offered the full asking price soon after the advert appeared...and had no reply. There were no other replies to that advert on BFW, just mine, sat there all on it's own, all day. I sent him a PM as well. It was not until the following day that the guy bothered to respond, with a curt message to say that he had sold the item.

The guy had obviously not even bothered to monitor his sale on the BFW site....Either that or he was ignorant enough to deliberately ignore my response until he could be arsed to reply.

I think it reasonable to be a tad miffed by that.

Cheers, Dave.

Dave,

Sorry if you thought my comment was aimed at you, it wasn't. The circumstances you outlined would give you reasonable cause for compliant - no doubt about it.

Cheers,

Joe

I intended no ill feeling just thought that as one of the busier users I would state my case. Sorry Dave if you thought I was having a dig.

Not at all Clive, my fault, I should have stated from the start that I wasn't referring to you. The trouble with threads like this is that the water gets muddier and muddier as it goes on, until it's difficult to see anything clearly. It gets harder to work out who is replying to which statement, and who is miffed with who :D Never mind mate, no ill feeling on my part, certainly not towards you.

Cheers, Dave.

Well let's make the water clearer then Dave, who then...is it me?? :)

I must admit I instantly thought of Clive too :p

I blame you for everything Neil, if it's wrong, it's always your fault :D. Anyone who hates ALL carp fishermen or anything to do with carp, purely on principle, is very obviously responsible for all the worlds current ills, including Isis, self pasted wallpaper and my wife's annoying habits. I thought you knew that :D:D:D

Cheers, Dave.

Thank God for that....must admit I was a bit worried there.:p

I recently bought 2 reels from Clive...very pleased with them and better than described condition.

Worst experience I had on e Bay was selling a reel, as new condition and top of the range Daiwa match reel...only to then get a case opened for item not as described, long and the short of it is the reel he sent back was not the reel I sent him...same model etc but not same reel, clutch was f***** and bail arm bent - mine was obviously swapped for his damaged one and e bay sided with him and refunded...nice!
