I can honestly say, i've bought several items from Clive, and never had a problem. The items, have always been described very accurately, including photos, and very well priced. Keep it going Clive, we all love a bargain. Sometimes, i've dived straight in, ( shimano 3500b ), but i know, if i hang on a day or two, Clive will often reduce the price further, but if i do, i risk missing out to someone else. So, if its something your really after, for the sake of a couple of quid, get it while you can.
Still after a spare spool(s) if you come across any Clive.
OK, a couple of points in answer to the response to my original post, some of which I was was in no doubt would come my way, lol.. When I said 'Some (though not all)' when complaining about some traders, the 'not all' was specifically referring to Shippo. I am well aware that Clive just does his thing, he trades as a hobby, not specifically to try to get rich. I have exchanged banter a time or two with Shippo, and consider him an OK guy. I am actually quite surprised and saddened that Clive assumed I might be referring to him.
Secondly, there were several posts similar to Joe's, and I quote...."Exactly Derek. It's unreasonable for a buyer to expect a seller not to accept other offers whilst they deliberate. Especially when said item is on offer for a bargain price."
The fact is, in the sale in question (and I thought I made this plain in my post)....I didn't 'Deliberate' at all, and certainly would not have complained about what happened if I had done...I am not THAT daft.
I actually offered the full asking price soon after the advert appeared...and had no reply. There were no other replies to that advert on BFW, just mine, sat there all on it's own, all day. I sent him a PM as well. It was not until the following day that the guy bothered to respond, with a curt message to say that he had sold the item.
The guy had obviously not even bothered to monitor his sale on the BFW site....Either that or he was ignorant enough to deliberately ignore my response until he could be arsed to reply.
I think it reasonable to be a tad miffed by that.
Cheers, Dave.
I intended no ill feeling just thought that as one of the busier users I would state my case. Sorry Dave if you thought I was having a dig.
Not at all Clive, my fault, I should have stated from the start that I wasn't referring to you. The trouble with threads like this is that the water gets muddier and muddier as it goes on, until it's difficult to see anything clearly. It gets harder to work out who is replying to which statement, and who is miffed with who Never mind mate, no ill feeling on my part, certainly not towards you.
Cheers, Dave.
I blame you for everything Neil, if it's wrong, it's always your fault . Anyone who hates ALL carp fishermen or anything to do with carp, purely on principle, is very obviously responsible for all the worlds current ills, including Isis, self pasted wallpaper and my wife's annoying habits. I thought you knew that
Cheers, Dave.
