That's a 'clonking' Chub as Wilson would say . You can see it's still got some filling out to do as well over the next few months .

Frosty cold morning in Warwickshire today -4 at first light . I couldn't resist a couple of hours with a new batch of cheesepaste .

Managed a couple to 4.9 but they still have a lot of filling out to do yet ...

It was an incredible looking fish and almost carp like due to it's depth. Very much a "donkey" in stature.

29 chub every one a lump including 2 good 6’s and a float caught pb of 7lb 1oz

Isn’t it weird ……. Did exactly the same thing the other week when the river had 3-4 inches on and i couldn’t buy a bite yet today you would think i grossly over shot the float. Bizarre.

Anyway …… check out this monster of the day.
That’s a 4.5 inch conquest to give an idea of scale.
