Catch Magazine

Fin, scale, blue-sky dreaming, bent-rod hero, aspirational fisher, fish porn that I began being spammed with a few months ago and now have consigned to the Trash Folder unseen (let alone viewed) on arrival and summarily deleted. Very nice, I suppose, for those who haven't done the real thing, but pretty tedious and obvious on-the-make Del Boy flogging for anyone who did a bit of the stuff before all the newly arrived happy snappers and film boys did. Nowadays, anyone with any sense just finds somewhere without any of this stuff or these people, then does a bit of quiet fishing. You know, like we all used to........

Hmmm...yes, some lovely shots, but why haven't they included shots such as this one?

If your going to do 'fish porn', as Paul lovingly puts it, at least make it proper filth and none of this arty nonsense.

Talking of arty nonsense, does anyone know how I can download any of these images as I'd like to store a couple of the underwater shots in my references folders for my paintings?

Paul - bit of a cynical post. NOT everyone has actually 'done it', as you put it.....and some of the photography is pretty good. I appreciate, however, you're trying to keep your posts count ticking along....

ive never done it....im still a virgin in the flies department :p

i'm not, but this area, unless you like fluff chucking on the canal next to the dog ****, dosn't quite fit in with the images above, even the wonderfull chess has been stuffed up.:(

No, Colin, merely when total and often damaging rot is talked and peddled as self-evident, "We must do this", truth, SOMEONE has to stick their head above the scaredy cat parapet and blast those peddlers away.

Paul, you have a very valid point but Mr self appointed "Chairman" Boote maybe its the way in which you dismiss these "peddlers" that leads to the common assumption of you being egotistical and self-righteous.

That's your perception of me, Colin. I am not an over-bearing opinionated person, but, heck, when my finely tuned, onboard BS detectors detect the real thing...

No you're not over bearing. But opinionated, well in my opinion (and am sure(know) not alone in my thinking), you are very opinionated, yes I am too, though I don't deny that fact.

Paul - without wanting to barrack you further, as it would seem you don't like it, would you just re-read your initial post on this thread? When I read it I thought; what a bloody know-it-all who seems to think age and wisdom are synonymous. They're not. Sometimes people need to find things out for themselves, without some wise old (?) sage poo-pooing every new thought, idea or concept.

This is not a personal attack as I tend to enjoy reading some of your posts, and I'm also aware of your reputation as a fine author......

Tedious barracking. Do, please, go and do some of this squeaky clean and new, lodged-up, priced-up to-die-for fishing, then let us hear your thoughts on the subject. I rather suspect that they will be a lot like mine - something reminiscent of that old line about Chinese food - "It was okay but I needed a meal afterwards.".

Carry on Knocking; it is, after all, wot the much-oppressed by something or somebody British do best.

Paul a tribute made just for you:

As for this line:
"Carry on Knocking; it is, after all, wot the much-oppressed by something or somebody British do best."

A bit rich coming from yourself, do you not think?
My thoughts on your statement quoted above, Paul, you're obviously every bit a true Brit!

I'm off peasant chub fishing in the next hour, on the since forgotten river Cherwell, no doubt on my return I'll read your riposte.
