Cage feeders

Afew more little processes and they come out really quite nice and durable. Did these on Saturday for a Trent trip.

I haven't had a problem with the lead flashing slipping off, but if you are using cast leads with a slim width and a bulbous profile then the recessed shape might be more secure. The ones I have work fine and are very easy to make.

One aspect of the coating that I can forsee is that it increases the feeder's drag in the flow. Personally I think it is unnecessary, but each to their own.

I don’t doubt it, I saw the feeder hanging off it’s gob so I can see yours work great.
It looked a good job of feeder to me.

To be honest they are just as quick, cheap and simple to make as possible. Nothing fancy. I don't like plastic feeders because of the increased drag, but in some situations they can work OK.
