Back in the day there were a few carp anglers who used to fish snaggy swims with very light glass rods and heavy lines. They reckoned they could land more fish on that gear than on heavier rods…..

Whilst we are at it, I was told that similar unconventional methods were used to catch lower Severn Barbel with match rods used as the rod of choice.
