Best pellets

I hope to give the ambush pellets a go when my vortex and hinders ones are used up. They seem quite highly rated, I must admit I’d never heard of them until this thread. Nothing wrong with what I’m using but no harm in trying other bits and bobs out. All part of the fun for me.

they are very good Tim

unpopular opinion......but when you are all using meat/fish/savoury based flavours......my mucker is emptying the lower severn on maple and mulberry flavoured pellets by elevate baits.....strong smell and similar to the old maple8

Are you using mono hooklengths for your lasso approach John? It's something I've been meaning to try. 😊

Not sure which pattern of Hook are better suited to Pellet fishing? If I didn't know any better I suppose it would be wide grapes? 🤣

No mate. Braid, the lasso doesn't work as well mono or flouro. I use the Pallatrax gripz, which are wide gape.

Why pre drilled?
So many people have put the Hinders elips pellets down on here.
I've used then for 25+ years.
Yes, their shape changed a few years back from flat to cylindrical.
They are superb still.
Cut a little flat on 2 pellets and glue them back to back.
I remember drilling them myself 100 years ago and sitting there fishing with no bait on.....
Its not difficult to fish effectively without pre drilled pellets!
145 barbel this season, mostly on elips.
1 trip to the Trent for a few days and the rest on the Hampshire Avon.
Same as me John still use hinders elips super glued on and still catching Barbel, all in the daytime too.

Hi !
I discover a few weeks ago the "Wild river barbel" brand.
I use soaked pellets in 8 et 14mm.
Love the Chorizo flavour 😍
I'm gonna try other flavours next year, in association with the boilies and the grounbait.

I have seen these too. More readily available where you live though than the UK.
