My current 1.75 Chimeras are actually 11ft 10" cos i sawed a bit off the handles, there wasn't a category so i abstained !

Don't worry Simon - i'm sure Andy will have noticed the need for more poll options ( limited to 10 ) so by the time the 2013 poll starts your 11' 10" will be covered, as will my 11' 9" - i chopped a little bit more off than you did!

float rod, fishing fast flows 1.75, need a bit of backbone to cope with flow, and especially when the turn, and use the current, some 30 yrds plus, otherwise its feeder rods 2.25 lb all rounder, or 2.5lb when river up 6 ft plus cant be arse carrying holdall with all the rods,

Your wickedness is reaching uncharted depths Andrew :p

I am sure the last government thought they could limit things too when they opened the flood gates....now see what has happened :D:D:D

Cheers, Dave.

Andrew - I imagine the results were fairly predictable? At least, the top scoring option?

Yes, although i am suprised the 2.25lb only got 4% of the votes - then again, it is a 'favourite choice' so perhaps more people own them but tend to prefer the lighter test curve for the majority of their fishing. Perhaps in next years poll i should allow multiple answers, as in a 'what rods do you have for barbel fishing' type thread. For example i have 11+13' 1.25's, 11' 1.75, 12' 1.75, 12' 2.25's and a 13' 2.5 - and an 11' 9" 2lb which isn't on the list! What do you think Dave? Multiple choice for 2013?? :p

Multiple choice Andrew? As in loaded boilie pults or stainless storm poles at dawn, supposing you go ahead with this foul deed :D:D:D

Cheers, Dave.

OK - who's been voting on the 2012 survey? Can we lock this now please?! Just waiting for the nod from Dave G and the excitement of the 2013 survey can begin! :p

Fox barbell duo floodwater 12ft 2n3/4 tc,purchased just for when river in flood but use it all the time now, great with the avon top fitted for floter fishing for carp in close seaon so a great all round rod.

i have a pair of 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2.0lb and they all get used at some time or other..
first time i can remember using 1.25 rods and 20gm leads to hold bottom on the wye..
i did vote 12ft 1.75 as these probably get used more than the rest...

barbel rods

Oops.... First time for ages back on these boards for ages (nice to be back!) and managed to post wrong vote - meant to say "12' 1.5lb", not "2.5lb".
Greys Prodigy, 5+ years old. Main reason for buying being the 3-piece, easy to pack, which is hugely useful. Being someone who fishes for a bit of everything now and then (barbel, tench, carp, pike, chub, small stuff) and sometimes not knowing what the next river/lake will be like, I've found this great for any occasion.
