Barbel and flurocarbons?

True,but the great man would never have had the need to fish any such rig other than the most simplest, given the different rigs we have to mull over these days it is not surprising we can get a bit paranoid if we need to change things. I am pretty sure that if a Barbel in running water wants to feed, it will take your bait no matter specialist rig you are using. I have caught good barbel on mono flouro and braid, and to be honest I could not say what is better, as I said it is more a confidence thing for the angler,well that's my opinion if I may.
Barbel are scavengers, they are not Roach.
