Not sure what the issue is here, I actually enhance mine further by tying real leaves and branches to it!
 
This is, surely, a perfect 'Secret Santa' present - or perhaps booby prize at the next Fish-in??

Geared towards the Pigeon Shooters I would think but it's only a matter of time before one turns up on the bank, what would be funny is seeing someone teaming it up with a full Ghillie Suit 

If you ever visit one of the outdoor superstores in the states you will see loads of this sort of gear, the funniest one I spotted was a one piece suit designed for a newborn.....My Mrs said fancy putting your baby down to take a shot and then realising you cant find it........It's a good job babies make plenty of noise.
 
I was walking through bushy park a week or so ago and see someone with a jacket made of the same gear, he was fishing 10ft from a family having a picnic and playing football....

(Maybe they didn't see him?)
 
Jack Pyke is primarily a shooting brand. You can't blame them if some anglers also feel the need to dress up like a (real) tree.

I shoot but don't feel the need to use camo any longer. I have never used camo when fishing though that may change in the future when there's a good chance that I'll have little money and a wardrobe full of redundant camo.

However, I do know that one of the principles of military camo is to break up your shape. In that respect the 3D leaf isn't such a daft idea.
 
What is a bit odd in the USA is the fad for extreme camo amongst the hunting fraternity and the contrasting Hi Vis orange bib they have to wear over the top to stop them accidentally shooting each other.

Adrian,
the theory is that most hunted animals only see in black and white. Therefore, it doesn't actually matter if the "camo" has dayglo colours in it as long as it has a pattern to break up the shape a bit. You can actually buy Hi-Viz camo, Real-Tree Hardwoods Blaze. https://styx-river.com/camo_guide/
 
Cheers Chris, I actually knew about the black and white vision thing, I can't think why it never occurred to me. However, a high vis bib is one big block of colour, or shade if you prefer, which has got to stand out to any animal.
I assume that as many birds use colour in their mating displays they don't have monochrome vision so the turkey hunters will still be at a bit of a disadvantage.

Adrian,
as far as I'm aware many US hunters don't use plain block dayglo vests if they can help it. They tend to go for realtree-hardwoods-blaze.
Turkey hunters tend to go in for static camoflauge blinds (hides), much as pigeon/crow shooters would in the UK.

Chris, I did see your original link, unlike some on here I tend to read the whole thread before passing a comment. Anyway, a little bit of research will lay this one to bed. http://www.ihea.com/hunter-education/hunter-orange-requirements.php

It seems that although there are many different specifics most states insist on solid hunter orange vests and many want hats as well. It is also interesting to note that some states specifically state that orange camo is not acceptable.
Like I said, A bit odd really.
