Are barbel the new carp?

Am I missing something Dean? I put it up so Colin Gordon and Neil Smart could discuss it properly without hijacking the 'barbel chumps' thread.
I actually said as much on that thread.

I know mate just made me smile as Neil and Gordon always seem to be at it

I normally target sticklebacks with a 99p net on a bamboo handle! I think after 20 odd years of doing this i'm getting better. Nothing beats putting the net against the side of the bank and moving rocks round trying to scare this wonderful little fish into the back of the net.

Sometimes I will get the rods out and go for Barbel or carp..... I may even go for the chub with a light quiver tip.

Dear Colin Gordon sorry for hurting your feeling for calling you Gordon.
Lots of love Deano sorry Dean Aston :D

To go back to the second post on this thread. Jon Whelen was amazed at how easy it was to catch barbel in numbers. You must come and have a day with me on the Sussex Ouse, my treat I will buy you a guest ticket. Can't wait to see them dragged out easily and in numbers, that will teach them!
Paul, I know they should not be in the river, but I only ever fish the bits that flow eastwards, think that is OK.
Sorry, don't know how to use the smiley thingies.

My feeling weren't hurt in slightest, I was merely making a friendly gesture by alerting you to Andy's update regarding members conduct, its not like the intensions behind the commented upon post were well hidden.

Enough said.:)

Funny, I started to read that as............................

Do you Colin Gordon and you Neil Smart take each other, to have and to hold.............................................

:)

Unsponsored, huh? Then that makes you more than just a merely half-able part-timer, just like me. Which only makes you not only a bigger, but also real, b'stard, to Boote! B'stard!

PS - Let's meet on neutral ground - I suggest somewhere in the appalling Midlands - at dawn, and sort this matter out.

I think the new Barbel may well be..........Blanking. In that respect I am, as always, ahead of my time. Up until now I have managed this without a sponsor, however tomorrow I am of to Lewes to see if Harveys will help.
