This was my comment to James (and David after the capture of the fish ) and the initial Kennet report from James.

Well Done David and James. Some serious fish there.

Which again should underline my positive thoughts about the capture.

As there seems an overlong reluctance to remove the libelous statements from Ponsford on the site I will assume I am no longer welcome on here.

It's been a good few years and more. Probably too long. Great fish ins, some great company, and lots of advice shared. Please send any messages by email, don't bother adding anything here..

There was a cover photo on BFW a few weeks back that was clearly Photoshopped!!

This one!! ( with my photo )

Admittedly its a good photoshop!

Ive only seen 2 photoshopped pictures that I know of on BFW although there maybe more??
Here's the other: A 17lb Tees fish!!!

The head on the first picture has a halo effect around it where it has been cropped out like I said a very good one I suspect.

I will never get involved with internal politics, what you wanna do is your business.
if anyone wants to doctor a photo that's up to them they are only cheating themselves.
I take everything that's posted on here as face value so if someone is lying they are < mod edit - text removed >

Couple of things fella. (OK, three........)

1. Clive's apologised in public, regardless. Everyone can read. Accept it gracefully.

2. Publicising p.m.'s is Bad Form, no matter what the content is. You have a problem, p.m. a Moderator.

3. Don't make threats, publicly or by p.m.. It reflects poorly on you and is downright stupid. :(

It's totally understandable that James should be a bit cheesed off. And fair play to the bloke for saying it like it is.

try and put it into perspective, its done, people have apolgised...its only fishing

This is quite possibly the pettiest thread I have ever read! A bunch of grown men squabbling like children over something as insignificant as the capture of a fish. It's almost like people have forgotten what going fishing is all about. Please don't turn Barbel fishing into what carp fishing has become.

On taking a look through this thread I'd say barbel angling is in a league of its own, forget about evolving like the carp 'scene'.... As a carp angler (amongst many other species), I just hope to god that it (all other genres of angling) never descend to this lowly level.:eek::(:mad:

Clive (who's a good bloke) has apologised - sure it's just a bit of misunderstanding all round.
Hate to see this **** on BFW when Andy and team put so much effort into it.

Hi James. Firstly well done on such a stonking fish. I fish the bit down from there, so I'm hoping it swims downstream a bit!!

I know it goes a bit deeper than 'well its just fishing'. Your integrity has been called into question and that can rile any of us. I think Clive has done as much as he can by making a public apology. Not sure what the point of the original thread was in the first place, but it was inevitable that it would cause offense somewhere.

I hope James, you can re-evaluate your decision and accept Clive's apology and put this to bed. BFW will be better for it and so will all concerned.

I have been around for a few years, not as many as some but a little longer than others and in that time I have been………………

Lied too.
Stabbed in the back.
Made enemies of people i have never met or am likely to ever meet.
Been manipulated.
Invited along when no one else wants to go just so the numbers where made up.
I have endured page after page of rubbish spewed out by people I really don’t care about but because such and such doesn’t like them then I don’t like them either!
So-called friends have blanked me in a room full of people!
Lied too some more.
Stabbed in the back a few more times.
Found out some of those I am supposed to dislike are actually ok people.
Learnt that every betrayal begins with a trust.
Been kicked in the ******** several times.
Helped people out and never heard them say ‘thank you’.
Had my character questioned.
Been called a liar.
Spent far too much money on stuff i am told i need!
Called people liars………….. Without any real cause too!
Endured nasty anonymous comments on my blog.
Associated with the wrong people at the wrong time.
Fallen out with everyone at least once some even more times than that!!!!
Have I mentioned been lied oo and stabbed in the back?

But then again I have met one or two decent chaps along the way and caught a few good fish also.

For the few good ones of you out there, keep going and don’t let the buggers grind you down and make you a bitter man as they have me!

Barbel fishing ehh, where would I be with out it :D:D:D:D:D:D
