Advice on a new rucksack and rod holdall

Hi Guys,
Try the fox quiver sling, a great bit of kit, well thought out, reversible carrying straps, and the side pocket is on the opposite side to the rods.

Another shout for the fox Specialist quiver. On it’s 3rd season now, and perfect for my requirements. Quality bit of kit, would buy another without question.

Can’t fault the 60l rucksack produced by Nash. It’s got lots of handy features, feels comfortable on my back when trekking to those distant swims, and it stands up well on the bank next to my chair - I’ve had others the tip over easily which is really annoying. Seems well made, 4 years+ of use and still going strong.

The only thing I would like is a rain cover...but actually the one I removed from old fox evolution rucksack suffices.

Think I paid about £45 for it.

I have had an aqua ruckbag for about 4 years now.. it's been great, with only one fault the zip handles breaking but easily replaced with a good piece of string. Prior to that i had a korum bag which was also great, but I always wanted a better quality bag, however I can't fault the korum bag at all. One other bag I have been fancying is the avid ruckbag. Never seen one in the flesh but at a good price too. I have never fancied a ruck sack type bag as the bit of kit you want is always in the bottom. The ruckbags open flat horizontally and all kit is easily found.

Can you remove the table bit in the middle of the the Aqua roving rucksack, Jon?

I have the discontinued Korum roaming rucksack. Quiver wise I would go for the Drennan Specialist two rod holdall, I was looking at my mates and it is a great piece of kit.

Had the Korum roving bag for about 5 years now, no problems with it at all. Chub vantage 2 rod quiver and the vantage reel wraps.

Aqua roving ruck sack and aqua roving quiver with lightweight 3/4 sleeves for me. The forum ruck bag is good too. I have had both and the aqua just edges it. A for the aqua quiver... I can't fault it.
And there's plenty of room in the central pocket for lightweight shelter, rather than a brolly.

Hi, irregular visitor to the forum here. I use an army assault pack. Cheap as chips off ebay. Plenty of pockets, elasticated loops on outside for bank sticks plus side strap for unhooking mat and unlike many angling rucksacks, it is very comfortable on long hikes. Think I paid £25 for mine.

You won't get a day shelter in it though..

Not sure as I haven't tried, it takes my daiwa infinity flatback though which is all I ever take barbel fishing. I think it always takes the fox specialist brolly. I certainly couldn't fit my pioneer in it, that's for sure.

I went for the Aqua roving quiver - it arrived yesterday and looks good. The test will come over the next few years, admittedly, but it seems well made.

Have you got the 3/4 sleeves as well? I have 6 rods all set up with the aqua endura 3/4 sleeves, it's not a solid sleeve but very good with no rods or reels damaged. I hold my rods together with the NGT rod/lead bands.
