Hi Richard, yes of course.
I bought a series of second hand feeder rods and experimented with cutting down the top section to a point where it would fit as a replacement to the 4th section of the harrison 4 piece.
Of course, you can make any of them fit, but most don't really match the original action of the rod....
Middy make a 'bombproof' 9ft feeder rod...
This when cut in the right position fits really nicely and compliments the current action (imo).
Now of course it depends on the current configuration of your rod as to how it looks and where the eyes are placed etc. But it IS doable for the price of around £30.
In the closed season, I'll send the top section into a pro and get it re-ringed and painted white, but for now it's working nicely.
(You do have to re-enforce around the point where the new section is cut by whipping and epoxying to ensure it doesn't split)
