Funnily enough Geoff the banker peg was the same peg that I found all by myself the previous Wednesday. I must be getting better at picking emWhich of course is nice to know.
I won't give up though, I quite like the river.
These 3 fish were not barbel I bet, if they were I would like to enquire if Patrick does guiding, be nice to get the Ouse monkey off my back![]()
Lots of Pike moving around Geoff you are right there, me and my mate Ricky have vowed to take the pike gear next time there's a right lump just upstream of the 'flyer'.
Brilliant result Ken - well done!

Well word soon gets around doesn't it . I knew it would be hard to keep it quiet that 3 Burbot came out to one angler , good size fish as well ..
Only joking , in fact the fish concerned were Pike !. The captor my son Patrick ,who decided to come and show us all how it was done . Having blagged the requisite tackle from me , the lad took one look at the conditions and decided that Pike were a much better proposition that barbel , the barbel rig in only as a sleeper . He managed 3 nice fish best 7lb2oz , and lost a couple of other fish one of which was a big un . Between the Pike he also whipped out 40 or so gudgeon on the float .I managed diddly as usual , spending a fair amount of time unhooking pike and taking photos for Patrick . I also managed to stick a size 4 treble in my thumb as well , bled like a good un it's still throbbing now .
Despite the disappointing turnout and poor conditions it was a great day as always , and much merriment was had in the pub afterwards . Thanks to DNA baits for the samples and well done Robin for blagging the deal . I will try and put a picture up of Patricks fish this evening .
