2 rod sleeve offering full rod protection?

Hi all,

After advice on a good 2 rod sleeve that will offer complete protection for the rods and reels? Been using the Gardner 2 rod sling this year which has done its job, but has meant rods have been clattered next to bank sticks/landing net handle, scraped against foliage on the bank, bashed about in transit etc. Hasn't been so much a problem when using £50 Korum rods and similarly priced reels!

However, currently have an order in for some rather expensive Free Spirit rods and also have new reels to go on them costing a little more than the others, so I'm looking for a 2 rod sleeve that is still lightweight but offers full rod & reel protection, plus has the room to take brolly, sticks and landing net handle externally.

A mate uses the Shimano Compact 2 rod sleeve, which is very reasonably priced at about £30 and seems to fit the bill, but thought i'd ask what everyone else is using before buying one? In use, my mate with the Shimano sleeve doesn't seem to take any longer getting his rods packed away than what it takes me ;)

Thanks :)

I've got the Trakker 3 rod and it's a quality product - significantly more protection than the Drennan specialist which I have also owned. Drennan also do a 2 rod hard holdall for about £55 but I've not seen any first hand - I was looking into the same thing recently.

Korum have 2 holdalls coming out in December. A folding quiver and a larger folding full protective one (it looks like a 3 rod though)

Been using the aqua 5 rod quiver, this gives you space to add brollies, spare rod etc. I use the 3 quarter sleeves, but can get full sleeves, quality bit of kit.

Hi Rob,

I'm in the market for a light 2 rod 'hard' case for transporting/carrying two made up 12' rods. I was in Ringwood tackle today and had a good hands on look at the new Drennan product (see link below) it appears very high quality....but at a price.

I have one of these and like the fact when empty it can be folded and put out of the way

I was in exactly the same boat not long ago and I went for this in the end.

Korum total protection 2 rod.
I absolutely love it. Even my big brolley goes into the left side pocket
Get everything in it and everything is super protected. At £60 it wasn’t the cheapest but like most stuff you get what you pay for. It’s a hard case so your rods are well looked after.

I can't see past the bike 😅

I’ve been using the Korum 2 rod total protection since they first came out and indeed it is a good product but it is very fiddly getting your rods in and out due to the stiffening and the overall “compactness “ so now I’ve decided to try the Trakker 2 rod padded sleeve as recommended in previous posts, looks the business,we’ll see 👍

The 2 rod total protection was a great idea, just needed a couple of tweaks to make it more user friendly, then it would have been unbeatable 👍

I think mine is absolutely spot on I genuinely do. I don’t have a problem getting rods in and out of it and given the cost of my new rods (when they eventually arrive) the full protection hard case is an absolute must for me.
