Well what a great day we all had yesterday , despite the thudding 100bpm music , the gin palace boats and the over enthusiastic Leeds formation bank digging team ! I think everyone caught fish of some description ,and in barbel terms it was a great success with I think six whiskery ones being caught in total. The worthy winner Greg Mellor caught two ,the largest being a fine specimen of 9lb 1 oz . Kudos to Bryce Henderson who tempted and 8lb er on his very first trip to the river , one to watch at further Ousemeisters .. Well known specialist Ruffe angler Robin Bowes lifted the coveted Tommy trophy with a haul of 10 of the little dullards .a feat which I doubt will ever be surpassed, a masterclass .. . A big well done to Robert Fisher for tempting an impressively long gudgeon of 14 cms wow ! . All in all a smashing day in great company . Thanks to Newton AC for allowing us exclusive access to their water and to the Black Horse in Tollerton for the food and ale . Hears to next year and Graham, you should be able to make it next time by using the Nun Monkton ferry !
