I've heard reliable reports of otters taking up residence in the wilton bridge area of the Wye, this being followed up of poor catch returns. I just hope that we are not witnessing the same.
Hi Steve,
Yes , still the same neighbour. Bring the pole when you're next down and i'll sort something out. Probably be the start of the new season the way things are at the moment. Ed
Steve, I think you must have one of the early models . As soon as this was realised as a problem they were made with a brass thread insert. Mike O gave me one to play around with and my neighbour, who's a retired engineer, drilled the hole out and inserted brass tube with the correct thread...
if i remember rightly a small group of us pre baited a carp pit in the early 70's. yes , that long ago, and it proved very successful for at least a season . we then started to use additives to keep it going. The first use of sweetcorn also produced some amazing results. Oh happy days!!!!!

Saying that i've got a number of Harrison rods and they are superb.
Woody's of Hereford do a selection of purpose made weights that can replace the original black cap weights . I think you might need to pre order as a fella makes them in batches i believe.
Try phoning Roger at Peregrine rods, extremely helpful and a wealth of knowledge on anything rod related. I've had a mk1 and a mk2 floodwater since they first came out and they are my go to rods as soon as we've got a bit of water on. Capable of casting the heaviest feeders yet sensitive to...
Having had a couple of break offs at the hook using the knotless knot on fluorocarbon, i asked around , particularly aiming at the matchmen and came up with the answer.
Its a variation of the SNELL knot. So plenty of practice and viewing on youtube and the problems have been solved.
Particularly...
