    Korum Digital Scales

Back to the (t)rusty avons for me too, I've had two sets of Korum digitals, on/off button went on both, still got the second set which works if I disconnect / reconnect the battery, but it's hardly ideal. Also tried Fox digitals, £99, they went back to the shop after a 7lb-ish barbel came in at...

    How to weigh fish properly.

Just a point on zeroing your digital scales to cancel the weight of the sling, it seems to me that some scales re-set if the sling is then removed (to put the fish in), the weight then becomes fish + sling again, I tend to weigh fish + sling, then sling alone and deduct.

Hydropower application for the Swale at Topcliffe.

Is this something the River Swale Preservation Society should have an interest in? Have to confess I don't know much about them, other than they seem to have an annual match on the Swale, but their name sounds like they ought to have an opinion.

    Bait colour

I've experimented a bit this season with this, and have had some success (both barbel & chub) on boilies tipped with both yellow, & fluorescent pink, stops. Whether it makes any difference or not is another question...........!

    shimano

Hi, I've a 5000 xtea and a 5000 re and, no, for some reason the 5000 re is smaller all round, and the spools aren't interchangeable (on mine at least!).
