time has come to give up fishing after 50 years

I have sold off some of my gear, but at 76 still catching. Hope I can keep going for another few years yet. I am on one of the same clubs as you but never met. Just keep little bit. Then can go out for short session

Looks like Jurassic Park. I went years ago.

No surprise who caught it, the king of Kings Weir, Huge congratulations Simon. Mind I don't know if he is on here.

    Offenham Touring Park

Must be devoid of fish, They can only be caught from the opposite bank, Anchor meadow and manor farm.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Thoughts on Block end feeders.

Problem with the Korum ones is that the end caps come out when fishing and you end up with an open end feeder. Only solution is to glue one cap in?

    Sussex Ouse

If you are used to the Rother and Arun you will catch on any other river.

    River records, etc

https://anglingtrust.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/BRFC_COARSE_FISH_LISTINGS_Jun-23-2025.pdf Yes it has been accepted. Colin Smithson did not acknowledge which river his fish came from othewise it would already be on the list. It could be the case that he doesn't want to take the record from...

    How much bait?

I'm sure that the same approach works on most small to medium rivers.

    Wading trousers

I believe to stop anglers wading out too far in a lake ,then casting therebye blocking other anglers

    Wading trousers

I'm not a member, but Godalming AS have a rule that you can only wear waist waders NOT chesties on one of their venues. Advice from their page or Apollo Angling at Marsh Farm might not go amiss

    Couriers

Gardner landing net pole/folding pan net

I have the gardnerXL. I have managed to get two of the telescopic sections jammed together. Always a problem with tele sections. I forgot about it. I'll have to get it out of the shed and loosen it. 😁😉

    Unhooking mat

I have an old TFG one but I wouldn't recommend it only the size is good , the sides are not high enough on a sloping bank as found on many swims. it's also very bulky to carry

    Unhooking mat

I have had over 18 from the ivel and the Thames. and 16s from the lea and the w avon

    Unhooking mat

85 cm is about 33 inches , the biggest barbel are more than that. I don't want to take a chance.

    Unhooking mat

The only reservation about the fast mat is its size. I don't think that it's big enough for the largest barbel, indeed I believe that Kings Weir have now introduced a minimum mat size of 100cm. The fast mat is 85cm

    Spoppers

I'd Agree with Terry about the salt. The Kings weir spopper has the pin made the same way as Christophe's originals. BFW have some good spoppers, Possibly made by Eddie Bray I have some of his as well. They work just fine

    Recommendation for 2 rods

Buy cheap buy twice. Or in my case buy twenty times. 🤣 I would have gone for free spirits at that price
