I have just about recovered from no more Garlic Spam but found I caught just as well on standard Spam. Now I can't get my head around how expensive Spam is in the supermarkets.
I therefore bought a tin of Aldi's Bramwell Chopped Pork and Ham before Christmas and I used it yesterday . It...
Time for some new prescription polarised suglasses because my 20+ year old metal frames are knackered and the lenses keep falling out - I have sat on them a few times which didn't help.
The Pentax polarised lenses in brown glass have been very good.I have got a couple of pairs of Maui Jims...
Lovely water with fabulous crucians, rudd and tench. However, I was disappointed to find on my recent visit that there appears to have been a rule change and non-members, fishing on a day ticket, have to be off the water by 5pm.🙁

I like my Reuben Heaton 9000's but they do go haywire when they get wet - very poor design flaw allows water to get inside - so I seriously considered getting a better pair of digitals and plumped for some Salter Electro Samson digital scales (as recommended by Bob Gill some years back)...
I have followed up on the issue of a USA and European system of labelling Berkley Big Game and there are indeed 2 different spools of 12lb line available for purchase in the UK with the USA version labelled as 0.33mm and European version at 0.279mm.

In my next session I hooked 5 big fish including a 13lb 10oz fish but...
Many thanks for everyone's suggestions.
I have got a number of storage items ordered (and the clam box which Darren kindly offered me) and have put into storage some stuff that I just wasn't using any more.
I am now looking forward to being more organised on the bank.
I think its fair to say that in this discussion personal opinion is the key factor.
It is definitely not a science, where hard evidence might prove which rod is the best ! 😏
I've just weighed the 11ft 2lb Torrix and the 11 ft Barbel Seeker and they are both 9oz (on scales that weigh to the nearest ounce) - so nothing in it weight wise (I am going to start a separate post on my Reuben Heaton 9000 scales).
The 11ft 2lb Torrix is definitely not a poker and the 11ft...
I should also clarify that I wouldn't use any of my 11ft barbel rods for punching out 4oz feeders.
For big feeder fishing I use either my Fox Duo Lite FX Specialist 2.75lb or Peregrine Mk 1 Flood rods.
