Have a look at Fortis clothing, they supply many military/police units including the SAS,...waterproof ripproof and very warm. I would recommend the Falklands fixed coat or Smock,
Fella's have been wearing crampons on the Wye for years and years. Steep-sided banks on a river the floods continually dropping slimey slippy silt everytime it does....
They work a treat and easily fitted to strong sturdy boots.

Use a poncho- no hassles with any size chair, move about easily, the best for the roving approach.....just a thought...I find it fits in my bag nice and easy..lightweight,easy to put up,no bother in any wind....
and use some yacht varnish to waterproof the tip once you have decided on what colour/substance you are going to use.i did my rods with it several years ago and still going well

The best thing ever, always good to come off the river for twenty minutes every few hours and get a fresh cuppa, recharges the mind and body, i have been doing it for years with several pals....and good time to catch up on whats working for Ed,tony or myself. I would recommend it to...
Forget the brollys, try a poncho.no need to erect,no pegging out, less room taken up,...just slip on and stay dry all over, far cheaper, and when your moving about fishing various swims,an ideal bit of kit, does me,in any conditons
