River Record ( To claim or not )

Yes, lots of advances since I was last on the bank. The knotless knot (so impressed), quick change beads, zip up groundbait buckets holdalls for made up rods and Guru rods. I remember paying £300 for a boron in 1985. Most of my rods were Normark and cost a fortune, the Guru specimen rods are...

River Record ( To claim or not )

14mths ago I started course fishing after a hiatus of 25 yrs. I concentrated with a mate on the wye joining Baa and Hereford this year. It took me a while to sort it out and I have. which loop knot ?

Come across this problem last year with fishing as I had come back to it. I found that the figure of eight would not tighten on any line with a diameter above approx .20 mm. ( About 6 lb ) I think these new lines (to me) are a lot more slippery. I tie the double over this diameter and my...

Still a place for a lump of luncheon meat

In support of meat. Having come back to fishing last year after 20 + yrs lots had changed. Pellets were coming into the match fishing scene and a gallon of caster was out. Boilies ( never fished one ) were big in the carp world but for me back then it was meat, worm or maggots. Last year (only...

What’s better than a December barbel?

I never noticed any damage to the tail however I did have an otter in the swim after I caught it. I've not noticed any damage to the fish at Stacklands, infact all the fish I've caught have been in perfect condition.
