it does hit a heron in the vid as well tho.... aswell as scare raccoons!
a mate bought one for the same reason, £63 i think but after replacing over £100's worth of fish before the heron came back he's not had any losses since.....
I fished the wye this week and changed hook links a lot thru the sesh. I Caught barbs on old 12lb ESP ghost the stiff version 15lb mantis gold the coated one and also used 20lb power pro in green. All links except the power pro I used heavy putty on and The barbs chub and eels didn't seem to...

One of my dads top tips....when fishing two rods always carry two landing nets, one secured to a bank stick for resting fish in and one to carry on catching...
Theres no right answer here all we can do is look out for this issue and make the right judgements without out actually seeing the fish getting damaged i guess will are all left guessing

I've seen several fish in our stretch that have damage to the tail fins one looks very very badly chewed and others with a couple of splits or bullet hole type markings and as this is another one for the list I guessed it was time to ask. Was expecting replies of otters line damage...
I went out on the broads with Charlie a couple of times with my dad. A real character, so much knowledge and skill.

alittle of topic but.......Is there an warks Avon record list for all species contained in the river? or any river for that matter?
Barbel we think we know because of the river records list but as for Chub roach dace perch pike etc etc anybody know?
Several 6lb plus chub reported on the upper reaches last season and one seven made it into the angling times aswell back of the summer.
One 6lb 14oz chub was captured in a match last year which is our current stretch record,
i'd have to say 5lb for the whole river .

not really from the Test but quite close to the River Dever and more rainbow than brown but hey!
8lb 3oz was the biggest the others ranged from 7lb 8oz to 4oz 10. My best day with a fly rod ever (i've only been three time tho.....)
