    Bob Morris Heavy Trotter Barbel

You wouldn't really see much Jim, but it's about 12ft 6, 3 piece, dark green and has 'EUROSPEC' on the handle which is short.

What the hell is wrong with people 😡😡

Birds of prey have fascinated me since I was a kid and went to see 'Kes' at the pictures. We have a nesting pair of Ospreys not far from where I live but it's a rare treat to see them. Here's a photo of my youngest with 'Kayla' at Eagle Heights in Kent. Sadly she's passed away. This is the...

Have a wander down the riverbank and see what other anglers are using. You could always use light carp rods f you have them. Nick

    Crayfish

I suppose the only sure way to find things out is to keep a couple in a tank and test different baits. I can't see how they would hempseed. I did read somewhere that DEFRA are trying to find a poison to wipe the buggers out! I doubt there's a river that isn't infested with them. Nick

    Crayfish

Someone once told me that carp, barbel, chub and perch all feed on crayfish and if you have crayfish in your swim then barbel are not present. I'm not sure if that's correct though. Wooden balls soaked in flavouring has been used by carp anglers for years, especially in France. Crayfish are a...

    Flavouring bait....

Hi Julian, See if you can find a book by Archie Braddock on flavouring bait. I think it's out of print or Rod Hutchinson's bait book. Rod's book has a chapter on supermarket baits and Archie's has a lot on spices. Nick

    Fishing wheels?

Keep a look out for ex British Gas vans. They use VW Caddy maxi's and they're regularly serviced and looked after. They occasionally turn up on Autotrader. They're sought after by surfers apparently. Nick

    Fishing wheels?

I've had a VW Caddy for 9years and wouldn't swap it. Being a short-arse I sleep in the back. I had the engine remapped and it's pretty economical. I removed the bulkhead and added a pretty good camp-bed system. Great little van. Nick

    Yorkshire

If you've never visited North Yorkshire before you're in for a treat. Fantastic scenery so take a camera. Scarborough is a great place to stay and you can have days out from there. Goathland is where Heartbeat was filmed and Whitby Abbey is worth seeing too. Great fish and chips in Whtiby...
