Great bait.
Confidence year round.
Caught on first trips using it on the Wharfe, Swale, Derwent and Ouse.
The small dumbell wafters are great hookbaits or to wrap paste on.
Just took delivery of another 10kg of the 12mm in shelf life, tad firmer than the freezer bait so bit better for using...
With the rivers being out of sort so much Ive also started my tench campaign much earlier...well I say started, 6 blanks on 4 different waters I was starting to consider the bream but thankfully last weekends session came good. First came to method feeder with a small wafter , 3 more came to...
Id just stocked up on a few sizes of the original hooks, day after they arrived, I see these 🤦♂️ Ive held off for a week but now with this new information/comparison, Bill youve forced my hand 😆
There's been enough sightings in my local area (east and north yorks/north lincs) from Farmers, hunters and security guards working along the Humber that I would be more surprised if they didn't exist.
A few years ago I did look into how far back sightings go and it seemed to start post ww2...
I was chasing grayling but could only find the one in fast water. Changed to size 10 hook and a bunch of maggots, caught 2 chub in quick succession, one of 4lb that I had to fight a rather large pike for and this beauty being a new wharfe pb for me .
Synchro XT 15lb 0.37mm
Usually over 20 quid for 1000m its £18.99 on that link. Have so much more confidence getting fish out of snags on this stuff. Also use the 10lb as a hooklink and I usually bend a hook out before snapping that.
Works fine for a few sessions but too much memory for me and had to respool 3 times in one season, used the rest as backing. Gone through a few of the cheaper bulk lines but seems they last half as long as something like synchro-xt so ends up costing the same in long run.
Just the one fishing pressie this year as we bought each other concert tickets for Tool and Slipknot. Needed a new bag so got a korum ruckbag from future fishing after someone linked it on here.
Usually sometype of washer that fixes it in the pole Graham. If youve got a Go outdoorsor Blacks near by they tend to have a couple different repair kits for that specific problem that come with spare washers, just finding one that fits your pole.
Was asked not to divulge that specific 🤐 Haha no not a carper, but def someone who deserves it, my pb off there was purely by luck his was not.
Ive blanked every time since but dont fish it that often, prefer the other park lake as its alot closer to home. My best from there is 7lb 2 on the...
A confirmed 10+ came out this year from the same park lake i had my pb 8.8 from 5 years ago, done a few 9s over the years too. Sometimes theyre closer to home than you realise 😉
Surprisingly the pegs from last week were free so I thought why not challenge myself and try to do better in this weed ridden hell hole😄
4 tench to 4lb, a 7lb bream and a 29lb mirror, seems theyve moved into the shallower water with all this sun, my Dad in the deep peg had one tinca early doors...
I have 2 harrison specialists although they are 1.75lb. Used them for pretty much everything. Soft enough to land 1-2lb rudd and Just enough power to land a 31lb carp. They have a nice old school proper through action, not a fancy blank to look at by any means but certainly a workhorse. The...
Fished a couple of new pegs with my Dad on our usual tench water. Seen as I got the good peg last week it was his turn.
Although fishing only 10m apart he had a nice deep bay down to 15ft whereas I was in at most 5ft, and that was only a small bit of my swim, there was thick weed everywhere...
