Congratulations Richard, what a fish. I never take scales with me when I float fish and I had my PB last week. However, the fish I caught was half that size, I guess a good 7lber. The Yorkshire rivers are more challenging when it comes to catching doubles on the feeder never mind on the...
It depends on how often you go fishing. Stating the obvious, a second rod gives you flexibility to fish X2 lines. I fish 2 rods most of the time, but it's good to have a back up option incase you damage a rod.
Howdy
I am interested in people's experiences of using loaded and unloaded wagglers. Is one approach better than the other.
I use unloaded, but think one advantage of a load waggler is that you can use float stops which will reduce the potential for line damage.
IMO. Elipse pellets are not the same as the original ones you could by from Hinders, going back 15 years ago, or from West Country baits who also stopped producing them.
Hi
Does anyone have any idea al how long fishing line lasts before it needs replacing. The are some articles, on the Internet, that suggest that fishing line starts to degrade and should be replaced every two years.
I had my fishing tackle, 6K worth, insured for £60 a year. However the Co-Op stopped the policy. When I looked into company insurance quotes they were excessive. £300 a year for a couple of grands worth of tackle. I will make a claim through my house insurance.
As previously mentioned if their was pnly rod I could use for Barbel fishing it would be the Chimera No3. You can fish up to an 8 ounce lead. Great rods.
Two other rods that have the backbone and length ( 15ft ) you might want to think about buying are the Carbonactive No3 and the Normark 15/20 Crusader. The latter rod is great at 15ft. I have both rods and the are excellent.
