Yes, I’m well thanks Tony and still in the same village. Glad the rods are doing the job. Good thinking to have the big net ready, there would have been fun and games otherwise! Look at it as room for improvement is a good thing, maybe next Spring for the double.
All the best
They are certainly possible but definitely still rare though, Chris! I’ve said on here before how ‘big’ tench have to be classified differently up here, say north of a diagonal line from Manchester to Nottingham. In my opinion, an 8 is achievable for a ‘serious’ tencher and can turn up for a...
How have you liked the rods, Tony? (Presumably the ones you got off me?). Handy to have that power if a massive cat is a possibility! How did you get that in the net?? Nice tenching by the sounds of it - got to be happy with 7s up here in the north.
Hi Hurgen, yes, I got the bail arm sorted and put your SS IIs to good use over the last couple of springs/summers for the tench fishing. So nice I wanted another for the occasions I use a third rod 😊 I hope you find some reels you like as much
Hardly used, perfect condition, boxed, spare spool (still boxed). Got it for chub and perch fishing but will also cast distances for tench and bream, too. Very smooth and very light. Not sure that they are available new any longer.
£100 plus postage (or free to collect from near York)

If the...
Selling for a friend. Two of the above, very lightly used and in great condition, spare spools but without boxes.
£210 posted or swap for Daiwa 25 Emblem BRs
I think somebody told me that Dave Lumb’s Standard Specialist Harrisons are the same blank as the Ballistas? I have two of the 204s, the unground wrap of the carbon is very retro but I really like it
Drennan compact Power Float anybody? Or experience of them? I imagine they are a bit, err, powerful?? Other 13’ two piece float rods that cope ok with 4-6lb line recommendations?
Thanks Neil. I’d spotted that these had been introduced probably as the Series 7 replacement. Does the retractable telescopic butt work ok? I’ve got an Acolyte Compact and the screw off section of the handle is perfect…which is what the Series 7 had.
