    Repairing a tear in Muckboots

Aquasure Wader Repair, used it in the past on neoprene waders and it lasted years 👍

    scalded Boilie??

You might struggle with scalding them. Unlike pellet, boilies contain egg so the albumin congeals with heat. A quick blitz in a food processor will give you a fairly fine crumb consistency.

    Fergal, from the heart

Just not convinced Joe, he caused lots of grief over the general licence. Farms local to me were worrying they wouldn't be able to protect their crops, which let's be honest is their livelihood. He also had to apologise for falsely accusing farmers of shooting lapwing...

    Fergal, from the heart

All my shooting is for crop protection, but I get its not everyone's cup of tea 👍. I find persecution of raptors on game shoots abhorrent, and guilty individuals should be strung up. We practise safe catch & release whilst coarse fishing, but some parties will say we're 'tormenting' the fish...

    Fergal, from the heart

Yes, I can see your a fan of his ;) https://barbel.co.uk/forum/threads/chris-packham.18039/ His comment about comparing people who shoot with psycopathic murderers is a bit over dramatic don't you think? 🙄

    Fergal, from the heart

Wild Justice and Chris Packham are the devil in disguise, make no mistake they would outlaw fishing for sport if they could :(. Fair play to Feargal Sharkey he's passionate about river destruction 👏

    Flavoured meat

Yep, fish have chemoreception (physiological response of a sense organ to a chemical stimulus) not 'smell' as we know it. Artificial flavours create local PH change which produce an investigation trigger, and a local one at that. Hydrolised products have far more appeal in my humble opinion 👌

    Hiking/walking boots

Had two pairs of Brasher Hillmasters which were great, last pair split and the quality was noticeably different. My own fault, because I didn't realise they were taken over by Berghaus (JD Sports/Pentland Group) 😞. Living on past accolades unfortunately Next pair will be Scarpa Ranger GTX or...

    Bulk halibut pellets

Hi Paul, I said if used in sensible amounts and stored correctly I think they are safe. I fish the Dee and the Severn, and probably use 3-4 handfuls of pellet on an average day session. You mentioned farmed salmon reared in cages, I totally agree, its not good. On the rare occasion we buy...

    Bulk halibut pellets

Buying pellets in 20kg bags also has the benefit of a best before date stamped on the bag. Pellets are a good source of nutrition, hence why the majority of fish rearers use them. The oil content is there to provide a lipid source (energy), this allows for protein sparing. (so the protein...

    PVA/Mesh/string recommendation

Another vote for Carp Craze PVA mesh. Was initially reluctant to move away from the bigger brands because I found some go baggy and have sporadic melt times, but this stuff has not disappointed. Overhand knot in the mesh means you can ditch the PVA string. I use a golf ball sized bag on the...

Quiver with room for Fox specialist Brolly

Another vote for the Aqua Roving Quiver, has a full length chunky zip and a decent padded carry strap. Specialist brolly fits perfect with room for 2x bank sticks etc.
