    Hi Ray had the big water hi s 13ft 2.75 since they first came out they are a joy to play fish on I don't even worry what weights. I spomb out with it if traveling light and handles 8oz feeders without any concern I must admit I don't have leads over 8oz but handles them just fine.

    I have an xtrail t31 turbo diesel not the new model go anywhere on the banks however muddy. Got some proper tyres on it though. And average of 36mpg good on fuel too.

    Hi Rob I use a shimano aero 4000 fa for trotting they are well engineered although no longer available new in this country there are still a few round on ebay. They have a wide spool and 6.1 retrieve. Aimed at the feeder anglers they make an excellent trotting reel so good I have 4 of them...

    No I have 3 original 15ft power float rods. 2 of them have the off the shelf handles they are too thin in the corks the handles are about 2 inches too long and I have had better reel seats but fitted upside down.     I am sad to report that Brian Crawford passed away yesterday. Many on here will know of Brian he was on the committee of NASG, NASA the SAA and Anguila club as well as being a Barbel Catchers member back in the 70s I believe. RIP Brian.

    Advice on braid - float fishing chub

    Hi Julian honestly it's a game changer. Don't forget a lot of grayling anglers use braid too. The best I have found by a country mile is Berkley Fireline. From a few feet away even looks like mono. I have had a lot of barbel this year on the float and even more chub.
