Then there is the government who promise 11/2 million new houses without explaining how much they will spend on new water treatment plants to deal with the extra sewage………( and , yes, I know they ALL do this).

Fish predation by birds and mammals has a minimal impact on fish stocks compared to water pollution in my opinion. The tiny river Teme had a good few otters along it’s length in the 1990’s but the river was literally full of fish.
Pollution is our enemy, not Otters and Cormorants etc. in my...
Blimey, how clean are your scales! I think mine are 40 years old ( probably older ) and survived being lost for 2 weeks on the banks of the Warwickshire Avon.
Happy New Year All.👍
I have fished since the age of 7 when all the local lads fished the local park pond ( 1958 , no computers then ). Basically I have fished all my life and I am now 73. In my twenties I was fishing ‘ club’ matches and even wrote for a magazine for a while. In my thirties I tired of match fishing...

There are a lot worse things to watch on tv ,that’s for sure. 30 minutes of two humorous old gits enjoying the countryside. That can’t be bad, can it?

If you guy’s don’t mind me deviating from the original thread a tad……
The Teme…
The river in 90’s had angling pressure, floods, low summer levels, otters and mink a plenty. It was FULL of fish.
What changed could be seen with your own two eyes, it was the environment.
I spent ALOT of time along...
The Teme…
The Teme and it’s lack of Barbel had nothing to do with angling ‘pressure’ in my opinion . Over a very short period of time the fish had simply ceased to exist.
Angling pressure will cause fish to move not completely disappear.
