Yes, it's good practice to check everything after casting out, no one is doubting that, but we are human and given the choice between a reel where I had to check it every time I cast out and one that I could trust to never snap my line should I forget to check it, I would take the latter every time.

Ive worn the Brasher Supalite II's for a couple of years now coupled with Gortex gaiters. Really comfortable and waterproof.

question for Keith Keith, what an amazing day out! Can I ask if you just have the one breaking strain on your pin as mainline and then decide on the hooklenght BS on the day? and if so does it make any difference what the actual mainline BS is as long as you get the hooklenghth BS correct...

On a purely technical note - surely it's only fishing if you have something that fish want to eat on the end of the line. If this was a photo-shoot then one would expect maybe a plummet tied straight to the line?

With the crayfish season almost upon us I'm hoping for a double this year. 10 oz Can't wait :)
