Hi Steven
Simon Lush has two of the TFG 10ft 2.5 carp rods that Robert was selling. In nice condition, wants £60 for the pair. He's based in North Oxfordshire. If you are interested, let me know and I will message you his number.
Mick
No. I'd say at some point the top section has probably snapped, been cut and whipped to accept a Drennan push in quiver, does the tip suit the rod? I could be wrong.
Good luck on the Stour and Avon Roger. Cracking rods to play fish on. I just had a little play with one of mine and a Speedia. They balance very nicely, and the Roberts fits hold it on very tight and you can position it perfectly on the butt. After my mate got in all sorts of trouble last year...
Hi Roger
I've had a couple of Graham Phillips Barbel Quivers for nearly 30 years now. These were highly regarded in their day. Paul Boote built the earlier rods until Nicholas Whip took over the company and continued the building.
Mine are the 1.25 Barbel Quivers. These came with a removable...
Hi Tim
Nearly all my Barbel fishing is on the Thames in and around Oxford. 2 to 2.25lb rods will suffice when winter fishing slacks and smooth water on the near bank and inside of bends. Occasionally in extreme circumstances (the last week or so!) and if I need to cast across then I will up to...
Hi Richard
My friend received the reel on Monday. He's very pleased with it.
What line did you spool it with, and breaking strain? looks like Gardner to me.
Mick
Hi George
Rod arrived this morning, stunning rod, very pleased. Spot on for my urban Barbel fishing.
Just like to thank you for the excellent communication and speed of delivery.
Regards
Mick
Hi Simon
I tried to get permission to fish at the campsite on the Weirpool a couple of years ago, but never got a reply, found it impossible to get hold of anyone. I even approached the loch keeper and got a very blunt reply from him. The cheapest way to fish this stretch is join the Littlemore...
Hi Daniel
Theres a guy on fbook, Joseph Novis. He normally posts in two groups: Cult/Custom Reels and Retro/Cult Tackle. He sources quite a few of these reels. I've had a couple of him in the past and they've been nop notch. Might be worth dropping him a message, he's a good seller and helpful...
Hi Steve
I have a couple of these, in mint condition, hardly used, with original bags. I'd be willing to let one go for £100. I'm up in Oxford, not far from you. PM me please if interested.
Regards Mick
I'll second that Kevin.Got this Bank tackle size 8 embedded on the Thames at 2am last winter. Drove home with it, snipped it half way down the shank, pushed it through until the point appeared, then pulled it through with the forceps 😟
Hi Richard, bit late to this thread.
Regarding the SS and GS 1000, I have both and they are two different beasts. The GS comes in at 454gms and the SS at 391gms. I'd say Terry is correct in saying the GS is the forerunner, and Huanzhou is correct in saying that the internals are not...
