Just find it a bit sad that some @#@&# are so desperate to go fishing they find every reason to justify why they think its ok to go in these extreme conditions i stead of erring on the side of caution for a short while , cant educate pork as the saying goes
Dont feel embaeassed for me Terry, i'll argue it all day long , not asking to stop fishing this year ffs , just until it cools a bit , you'd think i was asking for their pin numbers !!
I feel justified in "whinging " , go boil yer head clive , if i prick the concience of one angler who decides not to go out and it saves the life of one barbel then thats job done for me , you carry on
It wouldnt hurt a few well known anglers on social media to come out and say about the dangers of fishing in very high temps , some of the muppets who insist on fishing for barbel regardless might ,and its a big might , just hold fire until cooler conditions arrive ,
Right ok im not going to get bogged down in an argument/debate on what constitutes a big fish etc , we've all got differing values on what counts as big depending on river , pb etc , what im prob clumsily trying to say is that im seeing on social media lots of photos of small to average size...
How about then we stop getting pedantic over what counts as an exceptional fish etc and concentrate on fish welfare in low water high temp low oxygen conditions and wether we should be actually chasing them ????? Just a thought
Winds me up seeing small barbel 6/7/8/9 lb hoisted up for photos during this weather , exceptional fish then yes but do we really need to see so many small fish all over social media , inhook in net if you must go out in this extreme heat and let swim off once recovered ,
