There's one on ebay at the moment with a very reliable seller ;-)

    Trent Barbel Stocking

My limited experience of the Trent suggests there's quite a few fish already in the river. Surely 4000 fish could be better used elsewhere, or am I missing something?

The Angling Trust respond to the Barbel Society petition...

Perfect response from the AT. Doing a great job and I hope the last year or so has proved why all anglers should be members, with a direct debit in place so it just auto-renews.

    3m landing net handle

you take better care of your landing net handle than you do of yourself... Another vote for the tackle box one, though it also requires the occasional clean.

    Wanted Shimano Aero Ci4 4000FA reel(s)

WANTED - Teme-Severn 'hit & hold', 10ft harrison rod by Mark Tunley

Thanks for showing such an interest. To be clear I already have one of these and want another. So a Korum rod isn't of interest in this situation.

    Rucksacks which ones ?

The molle 'army' ones on ebay are great and cheap, when the mice get through them you just get another. I do also have a big Cotswold one for the winter when you need to carry a flask and an extra layer and a 6 pack of double deckers. Also worth mentioning, i tend to cut off zip tags and...

    warm winter coat

Look out for a second hand Musto Whisper on the bay. Got one for £100 about 5 years ago. great investment, warm as toast....

    Lead style

The 'advantage/benefit' is that you can fish it semi fixed when you want to, also useful when negotiating tricky casts under tree branches. But move the ring off the clip and it's full running, bringing a more touch ledgering scenario into play. Solar used to make something very similar, just...

MCF slipper - brilliant, safe as houses and can choose between the two.

I bought a quiver top for my seeker, used it once in 10 years.

    cross threaded

I once cross-threaded a sump plug on my mark II Astra GTE (shocking car). I stuck some PTFE tape around the thread and wound it back in. I then stuck a load of plastic padding around the plug. I then sold the car.... ;-)

    Unwritten rule

i think anglers of a few years would in the main say this is an unwritten rule, some, who may have fished day ticket ponds in the past will think differently as that's all they've known. Personally, unless fishing with mates I would rather no fish next to anyone else. I've apologised to people...
