As raptors go Common Buzzards are pretty lazy hunters prefering carrion to actively having to chase down prey. If you want a real hunter go for the Goshawk supreme in flight and skill with an attitude to match.

How many "mistakes" could be potentially made with this proposed cull? Honey buzzards could be mistaken and raptors in general would be a target in the end.
Just look at red kites, they were as common as crows once upon a time now we have had to reintroduce them. Nature will find a balance...
I have one I also have an I Power and X Flite all with 2lb tips but I tend to use the Drennan on a flooded Wye, just preference as they are all good rods. I have no bad things to say about them use with confidence.

Ledger stops wouldn't they weaken the line if it is the ones I am thinking about. You thread the line through a little tube and bung up the end with a bit of plastic thus trapping the line and also kinking it?
Brian
Just after opinions on storing made up hook lengths as the rig boards I use tend to kink the line if the length is over 12". I know I could make them up at the bankside but prefer to do it at home.
Opinions readily accepted though not necessarily adopted lol

Only Bream and Carp?
Where are the other species? I would of thought just a tad too early to spawn being the reason they got stuck.

Most manufacturers state the correct knot to use for their lines. Also don't forget the other end.... the corret loop knot, over hand loop significantly reduces strength I have found and use figure of 8. There was another knot mentioned that is supposedly better for loops can't remember what it...
I would add to these if not already done so that it is so important to use the right knot and well lubricate them (not teaching to suck eggs) btw. I used Icognito and thought it was rubbish then I tried a different knot and the difference in strength was very noticable...so will give it another...
Thats so sad! The gade was the first river I fell in love with at Croxley Green. Will the fish end up migrating into the GUC?
Hoping for some much needed rain Brian

It's a frog :) and mine have already spawned as long as 2 weeks ago, always same time of year around Feb 10th. When they are in the mood for mating they will attach to fish I saw one trying it on with my Ghost Carp the other day. It really is an orgy when you get lots of them in one...
