I am on my second pair of Muck boots with the first being Avons although good the grip was not the best. I now own the Tay sport and the grip is so much better, at times where I would of skidded and slipped with the Avons the Tays hold fast. The only thing I havent compared is in cold weather...
I think I remember reading something about it wasn't seeds expanding in the gut that was killing fish it was toxins as a by product. I can't explain fully as I have not got the article in front of me. Just a thought..

I got a set the other day. Head torch is ok though feels quite flimsy not sure how much punishment it will take. The 2 little LED torches are better and are bright and handy. For the money you can't argue really.
The energiser ones are better IMO you gets what ya pays for....

Get well soon, I too suffered similar inital signs to you and ignored them before whizzing my way in an ambulance and having a "tacky" appendix removed. It wont be too long before you have your rod in hand on the bank mate keep going....

Not strictly just for barbel BUT.... how do people keep their perishable baits going soft/mouldy/turning to casters etc if you have to leave in a car before fishing. I have looked into cool boxes with 12v/230v if anyone uses one feedback appreciated.

I have the 1.5lb version and I use on the Wye in winter for chub and and more than happy with it. Quiver section or avon section both work very well.

They're gonna need a bigger boat :D
Seems plausible its a bull shark looks like inland water leading to the sea. You want to go for a dip now would you lol
Brian
Paul,
What are they going to do with the Tench? hopefully rehome them in another water owned by said CS? I was going to give that water a go too if its the same one as the AM piece by a well known angler lol
Brian
Exactly what I posted on the Wye thread now seen several female Mandarins up and down the river. Very cheeky and bold little blighters which actually chase the feeder into the water....

I think Cane Toads were introduced in to Australia for pest control and since have become a pest themselves. Nature will find a balance takes time, patience and some big Perch and Chub lol

Just wondering what everyone else uses as an application for sores lesions and and general treatment of fish. I use Friars Balsam atm but its deadly if you spill any on your hands etc as it stinks to high heaven and it stains.
Any ideas?
Brian
Umm mine would be to beat my PB Chub on the last day of the season to make it a hat trick end of season PBs as far as Chub go. Bring on a 7lb Wye Chub lol

Having hunted birds of prey a common buzzard is probably one of the laziest in terms of hunting prefering to eat easy meals carrion etc. Common buzzards are usually a beginners bird as they are robust enough to withstand the odd mistake from a newbie falconer.
Flying around...

I am sure I saw one fly overhead into a tree one November at the Bibs but as it was fading daylight I couldn't make it out on the opposite bank.
David,
Yes you can train them to hunt Cormorants and Otters too if the need be but I don't think it would go down too...
