True but if you are sat on the side ov the rod always when fishing its surely be better putting a isotope in the reel port..than carving the reel seat out .
90% ov my fishing is in the dark roving around just a star light on the tip ov the rod and my hi S add them built into the clone reel seat ..as my new rod doesn't av a clone reel seat with 1 Built in the next best thing is to fit one in the slot in the reel slot..

Thanks for the heads up about the check but I always fish with a claw but rest rods not moving much in one ov them ..plus I mainly touch ledger aw I'm sat on top ov the rod ..
