Even using a powerful isotope you wouldn't be able to see float at more than about 15 yards. I used to use a powerful torch when after tench but don't know whether that would put perch off. Also that was in a lake so didn't have to move torch.

Apparently the idea is to narrow the river thus improving / speeding up flow, this should clean the silt out of the gravel and so barbel might spawn again
I have tried boilies and pellets both with and without glug. Do you think it makes any differnece or is it just a confidence thing. I just think that glugs usually make your hands smell, not good with her indoors.:)
used to be checked every other week by the river board in the 60's.
Since then only been checked by club bailiff who checks club card and licence every time on some venues.
