I use Germolene to treat bites and stings and Skin so Soft spray as a repellent even though it smells a bit 'girly' it seems to work.

I think the whole front leg section needs replacing. I doubt if you could weld a new piece on the bottom of the leg . If you unbolt the front legs, photo the broken part and email Fox maybe you could get a replacement. Good luck.

Apart from being a really good all round angler he's a nice bloke too. I used to fish Sutton at Hone 2 in the 90's and he'd always stop and chat when en route to the bakers.
