Hi, I'm intrigued by the inclusion of sweet potato on the list. How do you fish it?

That was a depressing watch. Fished the BA last summer (pre-heatwave) for old times' sake and was amazed at both the lack of flow and how neglected the river looked (this was at Lacock). Had some lovely perch but won't be rushing back anytime soon...

Because they weren't commercially viable to produce for a relatively small number of barbel anglers

This resonates! I went through my loft in the summer and, amongst other things, found six made up pike rods (I think I last pike fished 6 years ago...) as well as two brand new rods (unused) that I couldn't remember ever having seen before!
