Thanks for that, i agree it's counter intuitive but i also get it. I'd not really given much thought but had assumed that the leverage was putting us at advantage if the rod was stiffer. I see now that it doesn't, it's the fish that gets the advantage.

It's not one ive used or am familiar with but Ascot Dr in Derby is full of little units, so seems plausible. Using a credit card to get some protection seems wise if you go ahead with your purchase.

I picked up a couple of second hand rods yesterday. Both have perished foam at the bottom. Is there a way of easily replacing this, or is it a complete handle strip down job?
