I have bought it Stephen but am yet to read it but in the current climate feel that will happen soon. In the short term I would also be interested in the answer to your question ;)

Stinker of a season. Thank god its over

Definitely my worst season ever, just 6 Barbel from a flooded river Wye during summer floods and not one from my local rivers ( Dorset Stour, Hants Avon) just a few Chub on local rivers but even they were in short supply:(

    Baiting poles

I have tried it on the Hants Avon and found that the flow was way too much for floating the pole over so I reckon that you will have to be able to ship it out above the water.

    Anti Tangle sleeves

I recently got some off eBay from China, camo effect, good sized hole for large swivel, very cheap but as said they took a couple of weeks to come in the post but I was expecting that. In the short term you could buy some from Bank Tackle but if you intend to make lots of feeders order a load...

Burton on Trent Fishing and Accommodation

Hi Fellers, looking for help/information. My wife and I are going to be attending a funeral at Burton on Trent in the next couple of weeks and my lovely wife suggested that it could be an opportunity for me to have a go for Barbel on the Trent (something I have been gagging to do for years):p...

    Maggot clip confusion

Personally I think Maggot clips are outdated and have never liked them from the outset (too clunky). I mostly hook them direct on Guru MWGB hooks in size 16 on which I have landed several doubles to 14-9 or if I want to fish a larger bunch I do a similar thing to the Carp fraternity by mounting...

    Feeling the strain....Barrows

The one thing I would add Graham is DO NOT buy a trolley, Barrows are far easier on your old body when travelling over rough terrain ;)

    Your favourite Blockend feeders

I like the Drennan feeders which i think are called 'Oval Flat Bed' feeders (might be completely wrong with the name) to which I add anything up to 3oz's via lead which is poured into a trays and then cut to size;)

    Strange Hookbaits....

I've eaten thousands over the years whilst based in Germany and they are delicious but really nothing more than a hand made burger, but ask yourself this, why have I never used a Hamburger as bait (cooked) they have to work don't they?

    Review time. Chair

Chub used to have a brilliant lightweight chair in their 'Hi Lite' chair which had long front legs and a complete rear frame instead of the usual straight peg like ends to the seat frame which meant you could sit comfortably on any sloped bank and also put HD pegs in front of the rear frame to...
