Slight side topic, but anyone looking for quick release adapters as mentioned earlier in the thread - take a look at the large prologic ones (about the only decent bit of kit i've ever used from them).
No plastic cam locks to snap or crack, and have been very happy with mine.

Identical to the Aqua Fast & Light...same factory in the far east...light, sturdy with good cover for a brolly as 4 ribs touch the floor - additional 'flaps' at the front to be pegged/weighed...
I have a Cotswold Aquarius Roamer, and have had for the last 10 years. Fantastic design, extremely well built and i can also loop my chair through the detachable straps like the Korum to make carrying easier.
Not cheap, but confident that i will get another 10 years out of mine.
Personally, I would look at an inline feeder, no gum etc. and a slightly thicker gauge hook. Reduce feeder bounce as much as possible and you should be in business.
I often use double 18mm baits with size 4/5 hooks on some of the more tidal areas of the Trent, but do tend to fish predominantly evening or overnight sessions. Many of my better fish have come in low, clear summer cons.
I will probably get another pair if they come up at the right price, at the right time. :)
Use mine on the tidal Trent for barbel, zander, pike and everything in between.
I have fished the tidal Trent for years, and been through all manner of alarms (through preference rather than necessity).
I am currently using Nash R3s and have to say, they have been fantastic.
The 'false bleep elimination' has proved excellent, and with the amount of weed and detritus...
