    Recommendation for 10ft pike rod

Understandable, however i have unfortunately lost a fish with the braid slicing on a cracked ceramic liner on another rod in the past, and as my gear does get alot of hammer, and use, these tick all my boxes for the money they cost.

    Recommendation for 10ft pike rod

I have been using the Korum Opportunist 10ft 2.25's for the last couple of years, for my pike and zander fishing, and very happy with them for the money.

    River Trent Rods

I picked a couple of these up this year as well, and have to say, i am incredibly happy with them. Quite happy chucking 8 or 10oz about.

    jacket recommendations

Water proof and water repellent are very different things. The Sungpack/Fortis jackets are designed as an insulating layer, with a view to a Goretex/waterproof shell over jacket if required. Light drizzle will bead off initially, but will soon soak into the down inner. You will never need...

I have a couple of club tickets, and run my own stretch, although i largely barbel fish on free stretches now anyway.

Completely agree. I picked up one of the originals from eBay, and quite happily paid near enough RRP despite the fact its 10 years old. Cannot fault it at all, bomb proof.

I enjoy thinking about not just my angling, but the whole 'prepping' of it, and part of that is little bits that make my life as an angler, and experience of each session easier and more efficient. I like to keep my kit to a minimum, without compromising on things, and as i fish for different...

    Season results?

I think it's fairly typical of the Trent to fish poorly the year after heavy flooding, certainly in my experience anyway. I haven't put any time into barbelling this year, in fact my first session was yesterday evening, as my efforts have been focused on the carp. Fishing has been patchy, but...

I use 48" storm sticks mate, but would work with all sizes.

Avid Lock Down Buzz Pod I bought one of these at the start of the season, as i'm not a fan of 'pods' and needed something a little sturdier than single sticks for alot of my early season fishing, as ive suffered with twisting sticks on takes etc before. This is simply a buzz bar with 3 screw...

Smaller Shimano Baitrunner. Like 5010? What's used these days??

I have been using Daiwa SS2600's for years, and absolutely love them. I have a couple of sets, on a pair of heavy barbel rods, and on my Zander rods and they have been faultless. I have a set of 4500bs that i use on another set of barbel rods, and whilst i love them too, they dont come close in...

    Tight spigot...

    Perfect, thanks chaps.

    Tight spigot...

Just picked a couple of new rods up, and the spigot on one is a little tight on the tip of the male section. What would be the best way to remedy this?
