Hi - don't have one but I have bought one for a friend - they work well, they are a little bulkier that they look but it will definitely replace the one I currently have when it expires!
Thanks Paul, I have been fishing the Nene for the last few seasons with mixed results - the min net size there is 30" so that's not an issue and I haven't used a barbed hook for over 30 years (showing my age now), re the easy fishing at Marford Farm - I joined the club as much for Fishers Green...
Basically like everyone - cant wait to get back on the bank, will probably do a few hours at Marford if I can get on and then pop to Leasey Bridge for a quick look as I have never fished either.
Thanks Paul, might try to get down on Monday - but wouldn't get to Marford until about 7.00am - might not get a swim but at least I can look round properly.
Just joined the Verulam Club for the upcoming season, I know the old Lea at Fishers Green can carry some water after heavy rain (fished Kings Weir in flood many times) but how does the Lee around Wheathampstead handle extra water?
Hi, I know that this isa question that is asked time and time again but I can't find a thread to the answer! I am looking for a 15ft trotting rod capable of handling the odd barbel - has anybody tried the Greys Toreon Tactical Float Rod - seems a bargain at the moment - either seems to be that...
Hi, looking to try to get back on the Lea after many years away, anyone know of any day ticket stretches on the upper Lea? I will probably buy a season ticket that gives access to the Fishers Green stretch next season - but to many commitments already this season. Thanks in advance.
I have been having trouble with hemp for a while - only about 20% splitting no matter how long its cooked for, just in passing I bought a small bag from AD of Copdock Mill hemp and miracles happens its all split! And I believe they do extra large - once again not cheap though.
You used to buy a season ticket for the Ouse behind the leisure centre from the leisure centre - not sure now though - would be surprised if its balliffed at all never seemed very well run - as far as I know Santon Downham is free.
Hi Ray, I'm in Thetford and fished the Nene for a couple of seasons - really pretty river and really well run, takes over an hour but nothing seems worth fishing closer - penalty of living where we live I suppose!
Dan - re the barbel in Brandon, the only place I have been told they definitely are is in the pool behind the leisure centre, it carries a lot of water so they would be very hard to see though.
Thanks Dave - I did ask CAPS if they would let me have a ticket for just the Rivers - but they weren't interested, bit expensive otherwise. I'll have another look!
Sorry meant to mention - there are supposed to be some in the Little Ouse around Brandon as well, spoke to someone who claimed to have caught them to a decent size, I tried a couple of time to no avail though.
Hi Dave, sorry to hijack this, I have spoken to various tackle shops, Sudbury etc re the Suffolk Stour and they don't seem to know much (or claim not to) about the Barbel, I know that they were stocked but could do with some clues where to find them!
