    Habitat destruction

The AT have done a great job putting the Habitat Destruction Dossier together (link below), it was presented to the EA yesterday by Martin Salter. Thanks to everyone who contributed by sending your photos and details, you should see them if not in the main document but in the appendix. The EA...

    Habitat destruction

I did think that given the amount of time this has been 'under investigation' the EA were at least partially responsible given the landowners reaction, looks like I was wrong and something is being done at last. It is a pity that a river has to be a SSSI to get any legal protection. NE & EA...

    Hooking Maggots for Barbel

100% the way, the only comments I would suggest is I sometimes thread an artificial maggot up the shank instead of a live one and use fresh maggots.

    Habitat destruction

Story is in The Independent tomorrow, I hope this tragic destruction is the catalyst we need to get some action at last. The last few years have been a slog

    Rod Licence

No they don't tell anyone. In most instances it is hard to ever find out who did what and why. If it was or was not the EA unfortunately they are not interested. It is extremely frustrating, the EA will bang on about small streams and how they have improved the habitat along a couple of hundred...

Best 12ft low water/small barbel rod?

I love my 1.25 Torrix and find it has plenty enough power lower down for large barbel and I've had lots of doubles on it to 14lb. It really is a lovely rod to use unless you want to cast big weights - but its not for that.

    Floats

I agree, I think multi coloured would often make things worse. I ca see a two colour might help at times for instance 1/2 orange, 1/2 black. Being interchangeable you can of course stick in whatever you fancy or adapt to suit

    Floats

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone I really hope you enjoy using them! I didn’t want to start a company to take over the float world, just simply to get what I wanted and cover the cost. Most anglers collect be it floats, reels, rods, lures etc, we are as Brian says drawn to it. It’s...

    Floats

I have been trying to source some black tips but need to buy 10000 as they would be special order. How many do you want? 😂 As the tips are interchangeable it would be easy for you to paint a few spares as I supply spares with the floats. I’d use black acrylic. Hope this helps

    Floats

Thanks Graham, you should have them today!

    Floats

I see, it would work but in my experience a bigger float such as the 8gr you mention and bigger eyes so the line slides easier is the way to go

    Floats

It would need converting. I’d try a small quiver tip ‘tip’ ring on the base and stick with the top eye as is. If that proved too small a quiver intermediate could be put in place. How deep is it where you are fishing?

    Floats

For those who previously expressed an interest and any one else who is interested my long awaited order of floats has arrived, just in time for the winter river fishing! These are designed to exceed others in design and quality and fill a niche where nothing was just right. Built to last and not...

    Pair Harrison torrix 1.25 rods

I’ve got the same setup and love it. A great deal there I would say, the 1.25lb makes me smile as I play a fish on it

    Habitat destruction

I don't think it's being a grinch. This is press release is further recognition of the benefits of riparian areas and grants are available for landowners. The most important thing is the recognition by Zac Goldsmith and DEFRA that will, hopefully, back our argument for legislation protecting...

    Habitat destruction

I'd like to think the AT and I had an influence here as that gives a massive incentive to keep pushing on issues we see as important. Zac Goldsmith had said back in March (posted on 23rd), that riparian areas were to get increased legislation. Subsequently, this press release yesterday is very...

    BFS reel and trotting

Shimano in Italy used to sell small multipliers for bolo fishing, I can see how well they might work but they didn't seem to catch on and they do not make them anymore.
