    Rod insurance recommendations

I had my fishing tackle, 6K worth, insured for £60 a year. However the Co-Op stopped the policy. When I looked into company insurance quotes they were excessive. £300 a year for a couple of grands worth of tackle. I will make a claim through my house insurance.

As previously mentioned if their was pnly rod I could use for Barbel fishing it would be the Chimera No3. You can fish up to an 8 ounce lead. Great rods.

    Freespirit Tamer Power Float 15'

Two other rods that have the backbone and length ( 15ft ) you might want to think about buying are the Carbonactive No3 and the Normark 15/20 Crusader. The latter rod is great at 15ft. I have both rods and the are excellent.

    Acolyte users??

It depends how much money you want to spend and if you are willing to put off buying a rod for a bit. A friend of my has recently tested new Normark prototype rods -13 and 14ft models. He reports that the 14 ft rods are very good.

    Hooklinks again

I use combi rigs, flouro/braid, for the majority of my fishing. However in snaggy pegs I use coated braid. Hook lengths, in the past I used 4-5 ft lengths, but know I use 2 ft.

    Barbel float Rod difference Diawa

I bought and started using Mark Tunleys 13. 5 ft (Harrison blank) float rod and it is brilliant. It has a one pound test curve , an excellent action and absorbes lunches from Barbel with ease. I use 10lb line as I fish a couple of snaggy pegs and it can be a hit and hold situation. So far...

    Flavouring Hemp

Why not try flavouring hemp, Anglers are aways tinkering with bait flavourings in order to catch more fish. Its like saying don't flavour pellets, boilies, cheese, bread, maggots etc because it makes no difference, when it does IMO. My catch rate wen up least year and I put it down to one...

    Frozen Hemp

Hinders sell Chinese hemp. They are large particles, buts its expensive

    Frozen Hemp

Good question I don't know. So do a test and find out. I regularly, freeze, and defrost hemp to fish with and refreeze the unused bait. It might be defrosted for half a day, but that's OK. It's never gone off. I am a perpetual cycle of using the oldest hemp before using newly prepared...
