Damian, I appreciate that this is barbel fishing world but here is a true carp fishing story.
During the early 90s I fished exclusively for carp. One day in Autumn I had cast out two rods, each with a single hook bait on and no freebies or groundbait. I was taking a pee when I heard the bite...
Hi Guys,
My wife is due to attend a training course in Moreton on the Marsh in two weeks time. I'm planning on going with her and see it as a once in a life time opportunity to spend a week on the Warwickshire Avon to try and add a zander to my fish list.
Would really appreciate any...

Apart from the Hants Avon and Stour I've probably spent a combined total of 16 days on the other rivers
My pb off the Hants Avon was taken on a pop-up sliding hair rig.
My pb off the Dorset Stour was on the rig Stu Morgan uses at the end of the "Barbel even closer" DVD ie a long shank hook with the underside of the boilie removed and the bait positioned so that the barbel basically has to take...

On the issue of security Im sure that most of you, like me, have a number of locks on your garages or sheds but please remember to fit window locks where appropriate. Probably the quickest, easiest and quietest way of getting access to your gear.
Hi Chris,
Thank you for the recommendation. Clearly a light chair but the back still looks like it's tilted backwards; is that correct? I can't see any adjustment on the back rest.
Gents, looking for a recommendation please.
I suffer from a dodgy back and find the angle of chair backs awful being inclined backwards.
I'm looking for a lightweight chair with as straight a back as possible or one that can be adjusted up so that it's approximately 90 degrees to the seat...
Just to add to the general discussion, and re-enforce a couple of points please, please go with somebody who knows what they are doing for your first half a dozen pike sessions.
When dead baiting rivers I find they will often take the bait very quickly. As Graham implied, at the first signs of...
