    Selling Rod Online

I've sold many rods and posted them and although I agree that collection only is appealing it does limit your audience. I have found UPS very good but I recommend using strong cardboard tubes (plastic rod tubes can shatter on impact) from the inside of carpet rolls - my local carpet shop...

13ft rods ,love them or hate them ?

Another vote for 11ft rods. I fish 11ft rods (and centrepins) for 95% of my barbel fishing and much prefer them to 12ft rods. I do use stronger 12 ft rods (with baitrunners) for big feeders on the Wye but if I could get the same rods in 11ft I would. I don't fish the Tidal Trent

    Posting Rods to Europe

It is interesting to hear everyone's experiences. I am happy using UPS - although as Mike said its nowhere near as cheap as it was. I used to get them collected from home but now I drop them off at local shop (UPS Pick Up point) and then I don't have to spend half the day waiting in for the...

    Posting Rods to Europe

I tried both but nothing came up for DPD. I always used to use UPS Today for sending rods ( powered by Parcel2Go) but now they weirdly do not accept long parcels whereas booking direct with UPS I can send rods and the quotes are cheaper than via Parcel2Go or Interparcel.

    Posting Rods to Europe

I had a look on DPD today and tried to get a quote for sending a float rod in a 138cm tube but it said it was too long and couldn't be sent. Can you send rods? Is there a separate service for long parcels? Their price for standard parcels is very good.

    Posting Rods to Europe

For many years I have limited my ebay sales to UK deliveries only, largely because many other sellers do this and I assumed for good reason, i.e. negative experiences. I recently had an enquiry from a potential buyer in Germany who wanted to buy 2 rods. I decided to give it a go and plumped...

    River Lugg vandalism

The EA certainly haven't come out of this smelling of roses. However, I don't believe that the EA authorised the landowner to carry out the destruction/vandalism that actually occurred. What the EA need to do now is prosecute this land owner. Failure to do so will give a green light to any...

I'd quite like the Hardy Smuggler Avon but I'm far too northern to pay for one. HOW MUUUUCH!!! 😫😖😤😭

Wanted. Hardy marksman specialist float rod

I bought the Diawa Tournament Power 14ft float rod as recommended for barbel by Dave Harrell for about £270 but I didn't like it - far too tippy for my liking. But Dave Harrell is a far better angler than me.

    Cormorants - Fake News?

A bit blunt Neil! And I think you are mistaken (not the less aggressive wording I have chosen!) about overfishing and the effect on birds. The RSPB has the gannet on its Orange List of endangered species along with a number of other sea birds and the Kittiwake on the Red List. It has identified...

    Cormorants - Fake News?

Don't hold back Neil! Up to now everyone has been polite and reasoned rather than just jumping in with both hob nailed boots. I've already learned some things about cormorants that I didn't know at the start of my post in which I made it clear that I wanted to find out more- you clearly want...
